Job summary

Datacom is seeking an experienced Senior Data Consultant with Snowflake expertise to lead the delivery of modern data platforms and BI solutions on a 6-month contract in New Zealand. The role requires hands-on delivery, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to hit the ground running.

You will design, build and optimise scalable data solutions, develop ETL/ELT pipelines, and implement Power BI semantic models, while collaborating with Datacom's Data & Analytics team and customers to drive value.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in enterprise data warehouse design and implementation.
• 7+ years ETL architecture and design experience.
• 7+ years dimensional data modelling (Star, Snowflake).
• Advanced Snowflake hands-on experience.
• Strong Azure and/or Microsoft Fabric experience.
• Experience with Coalesce, dbt, Matillion, Fivetran, and Azure/Fabric Data Factory.
• Advanced Python and SQL skills.
• 5+ years Power BI and semantic layer development.
• Strong Power Query and DAX capabilities.
• CI/CD pipelines, Git, DevOps, deployment automation.
• Strong consulting, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• SnowPro and Coalesce certs, or Azure/Fabric Data Engineer cert.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of modern data platforms and enterprise data warehouses.
• Gather and clarify requirements via stakeholder workshops.
• Design relational and dimensional data models for complex environments.
• Deliver Snowflake-based data solutions, including EDW migrations and integrations.
• Design and develop ETL/ELT pipelines and data integrations.
• Optimise data platforms for performance, scalability and cost.
• Develop Power BI solutions, semantic models, and self-service analytics.
• Support CI/CD, Git, DevOps, and deployment automation.
• Provide technical documentation, knowledge transfer and customer guidance.
