Job summary

Jora New Zealand in Canterbury is seeking a practical Service Technician to install, service, and troubleshoot irrigation systems on site. The role spans irrigation pivots, pumps, controls, and provides technical support to customers while working independently or in a team.

You should be hands-on, reliable, and willing to learn; a driver\'s license is required, with experience in irrigation or farming preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in irrigation, farming, mechanical or electrical work is advantageous.
• Willing to learn and undertake relevant training.
• Driver's licence required.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission irrigation systems, including pivots and infrastructure.
• Service and maintain irrigation equipment, pumps and controls.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns across pivots, laterals and pumps.
• Identify maintenance requirements and carry out repairs.
• Provide technical support and great customer service.
• Work both independently and as part of a team.

Service Technician – Irrigation

We’re looking for a practical, motivated Service Technician to join our team. This is a varied, hands‑on role where no two days are the same, with opportunities to build your skills across irrigation, mechanical, electrical and technical work.

The Role

• Installing and commissioning irrigation systems, including pivots and infrastructure
• Servicing and maintaining irrigation equipment, pumps and controls
• Troubleshooting breakdowns across pivots, laterals and pumps
• Identifying maintenance requirements and carrying out repairs
• Providing technical support and great customer service
• Working both independently and as part of a team
• Keeping vehicles, equipment and work areas safe, tidy and well maintained

• Practical, reliable and hardworking

• Confident problem‑solving and working with their hands
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• A good communicator with strong people skills
• Organised and able to prioritise work
• Comfortable working in a hands‑on, agricultural environment

A current driver’s licence is required. Experience in irrigation, farming, mechanical or electrical work would be an advantage, but we’re also open to the right person with a strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
