Service Performance Analyst (12-month fixed term)

Australian Office of Parliamentary Counsel - Wellington Central, North Island

Use operational data and service performance insights to support and improve New Zealand's secondary legislation system and improve access to the law

This is an exciting opportunity for an analyst who enjoys working in a live digital service environment, where data helps teams understand what is working, what is not, and where action is needed.

Following a successful pilot, the Parliamentary Counsel Office is building a new single point of access to all primary and secondary legislation via the NZ Legislation website. As Service Performance Analyst, you'll monitor publishing activity, system performance, data flows, errors and agency usage patterns across the new secondary legislation service. You'll analyse operational data and provide insights that support agency engagement, issue resolution, transition planning, compliance monitoring and service improvement.

The role supports the transition and establishment phase of the new system, where dedicated analytical and operational performance support is needed.

What you'll do
  • Support monitoring of system performance, publishing activity, data flows, errors and agency usage.
  • Produce reports, dashboards and insights that help technical, engagement and service teams make decisions.
  • Identify trends, potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support agency engagement through transition by providing clear performance information, identifying common issues and helping agencies and internal teams understand operational issues.
  • Work with technical, product, engagement and legislative data specialists to support resolution and continuous improvement.
What you'll bring
  • Good analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to work with data and draw practical conclusions.
  • Confidence working with system data, performance metrics, dashboards or visualisations.
  • An ability to spot trends and communicate insights clearly.
  • Ability to work effectively with operational and technical stakeholders.
  • A practical and curious approach to continuous improvement.
