Job summary

Parliamentary Counsel Office in Wellington is seeking an Agency Engagement Lead to support agencies as they adopt new publishing processes and other requirements for a single access point to legislation. • Help agencies navigate web specifications, accessibility expectations, metadata requirements and system changes.

Support government agencies to adopt new publishing requirements and help improve access to the law for all New Zealanders Do you enjoy building trusted relationships, solving problems and delivering useful government digital services? Following a successful pilot, the Parliamentary Counsel Office is building a new single point of access to all primary and secondary legislation via the NZ Legislation website. We're looking for an Agency Engagement Lead to support agencies as they adopt the new publishing processes and other requirements to deliver the single point of access. This is a senior role at the intersection of agency engagement, digital service implementation, publishing standards and system stewardship. You'll help agencies and their suppliers understand what is required of them, provide practical guidance and capability‑building support, and coordinate expertise to resolve issues and improve the secondary legislation service.

What you’ll do

• Build strong, trusted relationships with agencies and suppliers involved in publishing secondary legislation.
• Lead and coordinate communications across multiple teams to ensure agency engagement is cohesive, tailored and clear.
• Lead onboarding, transition and ongoing engagement so agencies understand expectations, processes and system requirements.
• Develop and maintain practical guidance, tools, standards and resources that support consistent publishing practice.
• Help agencies navigate web specifications, accessibility expectations, metadata requirements, system changes and operational issues.
• Use feedback and system insights to improve agency guidance, processes and service performance.

What you’ll bring

• Strong stakeholder engagement, implementation or service delivery experience in a complex environment.
• Experience influencing practice across multiple organisations, agencies or supplier relationships.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Confidence working with digital services, web publishing, accessibility, regulatory systems or similar environments.
• The ability to translate technical, operational and legislative requirements into clear, practical advice.
