Stratford District Council - Te Kaunihera ā Rohe o Whakaahurangi is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to lead water services planning, asset management and long-term strategy across Stratford District. You will shape capital programmes, provide technical leadership and ensure resilient, compliant infrastructure.

The role is full-time, based at the Miranda Street offices in Stratford, with a salary range of NZD 115,000–128,000 per year, determined by skills and experience.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in engineering or related discipline with significant experience in infrastructure planning or asset management.
• Proven ability to develop strategic plans, asset management plans and business cases.
• Strong leadership, analytical and communication skills enabling clear, practical advice.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and review of water services strategies, asset management plans and long-term planning frameworks.
• Provide technical leadership on asset performance, levels of service, growth, resilience and investment priorities.
• Coordinate capital planning, business cases and project development for future infrastructure investment.
