Job summary

MAS - Medical Assurance Society in New Zealand seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to drive cloud, infrastructure and DevOps initiatives on a 12-month fixed term contract. Based in Auckland or Wellington, you will ensure secure, reliable platforms while collaborating across engineering, delivery, security and operations teams.

You'll work on modern cloud services, automation and CI/CD, contributing to resilience, upgrades and operational excellence within our technology environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms or hybrid environments.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with automation and scripting such as PowerShell.
• Strong skills in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code and DevOps practices.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for production systems.
• Understanding of security, monitoring, resilience and operational best practices.
• Excellent communication and collaborative problem solving.

About the Role

Looking for an opportunity to make a real impact while working with modern cloud technologies, automation and DevOps practices? At MAS, we're on a journey of continuous improvement across our technology environment, and we're looking for a skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join us on a 12-month fixed term contract. In this role, you'll help ensure our platforms, infrastructure and cloud services remain secure, reliable and fit for the future while supporting the delivery of technology initiatives across the business. The role can be based in either Auckland or Wellington and sits within our Information Technology team, reporting to the Systems Engineer Team Leader.

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you'll work across infrastructure, cloud services, automation and operational support, helping to improve the reliability, performance and resilience of MAS technology services. You'll collaborate closely with engineering, delivery, security and operations teams to support modern DevOps practices and contribute to the continued evolution of our technology environment.
