Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead complex projects in New Zealand, with a track record in water or transportation infrastructure. You’ll deliver detailed designs, provide technical leadership, and mentor junior staff across multi-disciplinary teams.

Successful candidates will be CPEng Chartered, with 10+ years in consulting, and willing to travel within the South Island to support projects from concept through construction.

Qualifications

• CPEng Chartered structural engineer with 10+ years in consulting.
• Experience in water and/or transportation infrastructure projects.
• Ability to lead multi-disciplinary design teams and deliver projects from investigation to construction.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and deliver detailed structural designs for transportation and water-related projects.
• Provide technical leadership across the Structural Discipline.
• Lead design and construct project delivery methods.
• Prepare technical reports, risk assessments and asset management plans.
• Supervise construction activities as required and ensure timely, cost-efficient delivery.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.
