Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to join its Water team in New Zealand, requiring at least 10 years of consulting experience and a CPEng Chartered structural engineer. The role involves leading detailed designs for water and transportation infrastructure and may involve travel across the South Island.

You will work with clients and project teams from concept through construction, provide technical leadership, mentoring, and ensure timely, cost-aware delivery of projects.

Qualifications

• CPEng Chartered structural engineer with 10+ years’ experience in the consulting industry.

Responsibilities

• Planning, management and delivery of detailed structural designs, including senior checks and reviews, across a variety of transportation and water related infrastructure projects.
• Technical advice and leadership across the Structural Discipline
• Project leadership including design and construct project delivery methods
• Technical report writing, including ability to carry out structural assessments, inspections, risk assessment and asset management plans
• Construction supervision support as required
• Working closely with project teams and project managers to ensure timely and cost-efficient delivery
• Mentoring and development of junior team members
