Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer in Christchurch, NZ. You will lead structural design efforts across water and transportation projects, providing technical leadership and mentoring within a collaborative Asia Pacific team.

Role involves managing projects from investigation to completion, with some travel in the South Island. CPEng status and 10+ years experience are essential for this senior position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in consulting.
• Experience in water and/or transportation infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of industrial/utility buildings or pump stations is advantageous.
• Strong leadership and project delivery capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and deliver detailed structural designs across transportation and water projects.
• Provide technical leadership across the Structural Discipline.
• Lead design and construct project delivery methods.
• Prepare technical reports, risk assessments and asset management plans.
• Provide construction supervision support as required.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely, cost-efficient delivery.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.
