Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in New Zealand is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer with a proven track record in delivering complex projects. You will lead multidisciplinary teams across water and transportation infrastructure and guide design from investigation through to construction.

The role requires CPEng Chartered status and at least 10 years of consulting experience, with willingness to travel in the South Island and collaborate with clients and colleagues across Asia Pacific.

Qualifications

• You’ll be a CPEng Chartered structural engineer with at least 10 years’ professional experience in the consulting industry including multi-disciplinary design projects.
• You’ll have experience in water and/or transportation infrastructure projects, ideally including industrial/utility buildings or pump station buildings and water retention structures, or a good understanding of transportation infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Planning, management and delivery of detailed structural designs, including senior checks and reviews, across a variety of transportation and water related infrastructure projects.
• Technical advice and leadership across the Structural Discipline
• Project leadership including design and construct project delivery methods
• Technical report writing, including ability to carry out structural assessments, inspections, risk assessment and asset management plans
• Construction supervision support as required
• Working closely with project teams and project managers to ensure timely and cost-efficient delivery
• Mentoring and development of junior team members
