Senior Software Engineer - Squad Tech Lead

We're looking for a hands-on Senior Software Engineer (Squad Tech Lead) to lead the technical direction of a delivery squad while remaining deeply involved in architecture, coding, mentoring, and innovation.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of modern software engineering and AI-enabled delivery. You'll help shape how technology is built and delivered across SkyCity while working with passionate engineers who are embracing new ways of solving complex business problems.

This is not a traditional people management role. Instead, you'll be the technical leader, architect, coach, and quality guardian for a squad of talented engineers, helping ensure everything delivered is scalable, secure, maintainable, and fit for purpose.

As the Squad Tech Lead, you'll be the technical anchor for a squad of 4-6 engineers, partnering closely with the Product Owner to deliver high-quality software solutions. You'll guide architectural decisions, mentor developers, oversee technical quality, and drive the effective use of AI-assisted development tools and coding agents.

Leading the architecture and technical design of squad deliverables

Designing, building, and shipping production-ready software as an active contributor within the squad

Driving AI-augmented development practices and guiding the use of AI coding tools and agents

Ensuring all solutions meet quality, security, testing, and operational standards

Mentoring and developing intermediate and junior engineers

You're a highly experienced software engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing technical direction, and helping others succeed.

8+ years' experience delivering software solutions in production environments

Strong software architecture and technical design experience

Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Cloudflare

A security-first mindset and commitment to building robust, scalable solutions

Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar technologies
