Job summary

Simfuni is seeking a senior software engineer to help deliver a cloud-based multi-tenant SaaS platform. The role involves end-to-end delivery, quality assurance, and collaboration across Auckland (Takapuna) and Wellington with hybrid working; remote options across New Zealand are available for strong candidates.

You will join a passionate team building and operating the platform, focusing on reliability and scalable architecture while mentoring others and driving technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience with Java, Spring and Hibernate/JPA.
• Experience building front end apps with a modern stack.
• Knowledge of microservices and cloud deployment patterns (IaC).
• Experience with APIs: publishing, versioning and maintenance.
• Understanding of structured and unstructured database design.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects are delivered to a high quality level.
• Support the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in risk assessments and mitigations.
• Analyze and troubleshoot application issues.
• Recommend new technologies to improve efficiency.
• Provide design reviews and technical guidance.
• Attend project meetings to discuss issues and ideas.
• Coordinate with QA to develop tests and plans.
• Plan, prioritise and complete project work.
• Support maintenance and upgrades of existing software.
• Participate in technical audits and implement recommendations.
• Create technical solutions that fit business needs.
