Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Core Experiences team in Auckland. The role focuses on building foundational services and SDKs that power the product experience across platforms, balancing product needs with infrastructure considerations.

The ideal candidate designs clear APIs and reliable systems, works strategically, and enjoys collaborating with designers, PMs, and marketers to deliver high-impact solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience designing clear, reliable APIs and simple systems that enhance the user experience.
• Ability to ship cross-platform SDKs and backend services.
• Kotlin Multiplatform experience preferred; Java acceptable.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product teams to scope projects and deliver cross-platform SDK solutions.
• Optimize existing functionality to improve loading and parsing through better abstractions.
• Ship cloud functions and backend services using Kotlin.
