Tait Communications in Christchurch seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join our Terminals Team. You’ll develop embedded firmware for mission-critical radio products, with emphasis on Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi integration and platform-level software.
You will collaborate across hardware, firmware, and software teams in an agile environment to deliver robust, secure wireless solutions used in challenging field environments worldwide.
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Terminals Team, a collaborative group of around 30 software developers and testers responsible for the software that powers our mission-critical radio solutions. Our products are trusted by emergency services, utilities, and enterprise organisations around the world, helping people stay connected when communication matters most. This role is ideal for an experienced embedded software engineer with a passion for wireless technologies, particularly Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and a desire to solve complex technical challenges. You’ll play a key role in the development and enhancement of the connectivity platform that underpins our next generation of mobile and portable radio products. Working across all levels of our embedded firmware, with a platform-centric focus, you’ll contribute to the delivery and maintenance of robust, secure, and high-performing wireless solutions. From Bluetooth and Wi-Fi integration through to development of value-add features, you’ll have a direct impact on products relied upon in some of the most demanding environments. You’ll join a highly experienced team that values collaboration, technical excellence, and developing innovative solutions that keep critical communications connected.
