Job summary

Connell Contractors Limited in Hamilton is seeking an experienced site supervisor to lead on civil projects across NZ. You will run the onsite operations, conduct toolbox talks, ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Reporting to Construction Manager, you will guide crews through earthworks, drainage, precast and in-situ concrete, read plans, coach junior trades, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years NZ-based supervisor experience in civil construction.
• Experience on earthworks, drainage, precast concrete and in-situ concrete.
• Strong leadership and no-nonsense attitude to health & safety.
• A sharp eye for quality and the paperwork to match.
• Confidence with plans, scopes, and scheduling.
• Willingness to mentor and build up the next generation of tradies.
• Full class 1 licence.
• Willingness to travel and stay away as jobs require.

Responsibilities

• Running the show onsite - from daily toolbox talks to hands on leadership
• Keeping the crew sharp, safe, and productive
• Guiding and upskilling your team through experience and know how
• Reading plans, solving problems, and hitting targets
• Making sure gear is in top shape and documentation’s accurate and tight
• Liaising with clients, Contracts Managers and site teams to get it done right
