Job summary

Our client, a well-established manufacturer of specialized industrial machinery, seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and optimize robust systems from concept to production. You will use SolidWorks or Inventor and perform FEA-based analyses to ensure safety and performance.

The role is fully remote within South Africa, with project work focused on Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will collaborate with project managers and suppliers, develop drawings and BOMs, and support prototyping and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 6 years in mechanical design for industrial machinery.
Proficient in 3D CAD and GD&T.
Experience with engineering analysis tools (FEA advantageous).
Strong communication and ability to collaborate remotely.

Responsibilities

Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for industrial machinery using advanced CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor).
Perform mechanical analyses (stress, strain, fatigue) to ensure design integrity.
Create detailed manufacturing drawings, specs, and BOMs for fabrication and assembly.
Collaborate virtually with project managers, manufacturing teams, and suppliers.
Support prototyping and testing, analyzing results and applying design changes.
