Job summary

Our client, a leading provider of specialized industrial equipment, seeks a Mechanical Systems Engineer for Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will design, integrate, and optimize complex mechanical systems, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and performance through rigorous analysis and testing.

Responsibilities include CAD modeling, system-level analysis, and cross-disciplinary collaboration with electrical and software teams to deliver robust industrial solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design and systems engineering.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Inventor, SolidWorks) and simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanics: dynamics, kinematics, thermodynamics.
• Experience with industrial equipment and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills; ability to work in a team.
• Experience with PLCs/control systems integration is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate mechanical systems for industrial machinery and equipment.
• Create CAD models, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Conduct system-level analyses (stress, thermal, vibration) for reliability.
• Select components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with electrical/software teams for seamless integration.
• Develop and execute test plans for mechanical systems and components.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and provide solutions.
• Ensure designs meet industry standards, safety regs, and customer needs.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for all designs and modifications.
