Higgins is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the PKH Wind Farm project in the Dunedin region. This site-based role offers a pivotal commercial position within a major infra project advancing New Zealand's renewable energy goals.

You will lead cost management, procurement, contract administration, and risk management across a large work package, collaborating with a high-performing project team to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• 10+ years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role on large civil, construction, infrastructure or energy projects.
• Strong commercial acumen and contractual knowledge.
• Experience in procurement and subcontractor management.

Responsibilities

• Managing project budgets, forecasting, cash flow, cost reporting, and margin performance.
• Administering head contract and subcontract commercial requirements.
• Preparing and managing progress claims, variations, notices, and final accounts.
• Leading procurement activities, including subcontractor and supplier engagement.

Job description

Higgins is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team delivering the PKH Wind Farm Project in the Dunedin region. This is a rare opportunity to play a key commercial role on a major infrastructure project that will contribute to New Zealand's renewable energy future.

As a Senior QS, you'll be responsible for driving commercial performance across a significant package of works, providing leadership in cost management, procurement, contract administration, risk management, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle. This is a site-based position working alongside a high-performing project team in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you'll be responsible for:

• Managing project budgets, forecasting, cash flow, cost reporting, and margin performance.

What You'll Bring

• A tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role.
• Proven experience operating as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on large civil, construction, infrastructure, or energy projects.
• Strong commercial acumen and contractual knowledge.
• Experience in procurement and subcontractor management.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative project environment.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and risk management.
