Job summary

Frequency is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager in Wellington to lead large infrastructure projects, manage clients and teams, and ensure high-quality delivery. You will oversee project scope, schedule, and budget while fostering client satisfaction and development of the project team.

You will mentor staff, engage with clients, and contribute to business development, aligning with Frequency's office-first culture and strong local network.

Qualifications

  • 8 to 10 years of industry experience managing infrastructure projects.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
  • Experience in design management, team management, or team director roles focused on infrastructure projects.
  • Desirable: consultancy and client-side project management experience.
  • Desirable: vertical build and seismic project experience.
  • Experience in line management of internal delivery teams.
  • Excellent communication with strong emotional intelligence (EQ).
  • Strong Wellington regional presence and professional network.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and maintain deadlines with strong commercial acumen.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic Project Management Delivery: Buildings / Vertical team in Wellington. In this role, you will be responsible for managing projects, clients, and people, ensuring high-quality delivery and client satisfaction. You will also actively contribute to the leadership and development of our teams, providing clear direction and fostering a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage project teams, ensuring the delivery of projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship to team members, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Actively engage with clients, understanding their needs and objectives, and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Prepare and present technical papers at industry events, showcasing Frequency's expertise.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety obligations and company policies.
  • Develop and implement project management plans aligned with clients' requirements.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including client meetings, preparing proposals and tenders.
About You:
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant industry experience with a proven track record in managing infrastructure projects
  • Holds relevant tertiary industry qualifications.
  • Demonstrated experience in roles such as design management, team management, or team director, with a focus on infrastructure projects.
  • Consultancy and Client-side Project Management experience is desirable.
  • Experience in Vertical Build and Seismic projects is desirable.
  • Experience in Line Management of Internal Delivery Teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with a strong emphasis on effective communication and emotional intelligence (EQ).
  • Strong industry presence and a robust professional network, particularly in the Wellington region.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.Strong commercial acumen, with experience in managing project financials and performance.
