Job summary

NZTA | Waka Kotahi is seeking a Principal Analyst - Performance Reporting Products to lead the evolution of performance dashboards across New Zealand’s state highway portfolio. This senior role focuses on translating leadership needs into trusted, practical reporting products and ensuring adoption in governance and decision-making.

You will steer priorities, backlogs, and agile delivery, collaborating with business and technical teams while coaching analysts to lift capability and consistency

Qualifications

• Proven leadership across analytics teams and product delivery.
• Strong ability to translate customer needs into practical dashboard solutions.
• Experience with planning and prioritising in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead ownership and continuous improvement of IDD's performance reporting dashboards.
• Gather customer needs; translate into clear dashboard requirements.
• Own the dashboard backlog with prioritisation and delivery planning.
• Lead improvement initiatives through planning, delivery and adoption using structured and agile approaches.
• Set and maintain fit-for-purpose reporting standards and processes.
• Collaborate across business and technical teams to ensure usable, sustainable dashboard solutions.
• Coach and mentor analysts to lift capability and consistency.
