Job summary

Contact Energy is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to own the goods procurement workstream for a Renewable Growth major project, often valued near NZ$300 million. This 3-year fixed-term engagement requires on-site presence in Glenbrook 3+ days per week, with Auckland or nearby living suitable.

You will lead procurement planning, market engagement, tendering, evaluations and award decisions, coordinating with engineering, quality, expediting, logistics and commercial teams to keep packages

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in procurement for major capital projects.
• Proven ability to manage high-value, high-volume procurement portfolios.
• Strong ability to influence engineers, project leaders and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage the procurement plan and schedule.
• Develop sourcing strategies and gather technical documents.
• Take packages to market and lead tenders, evaluations, negotiations and award.
• Coordinate supplier engagement, quality, expediting, logistics and delivery interfaces.
• Maintain momentum while protecting commercial integrity and governance.
