Job summary

Morson Edge Australia in Auckland, NZ, seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead a 300MW+ wind farm development from pre-construction toward construction. You will coordinate internal teams, OEMs, EPCs and consultants to position the project for financial close and successful delivery.

This role requires proven renewable energy project leadership, strong stakeholder engagement, and robust contract and budget management to drive execution in a complex environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Project Manager in renewable energy or power infrastructure.
• Proven delivery of large-scale infrastructure/energy projects (wind, solar, or BESS preferred).
• Strong commercial, contractual and programme management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead project planning and pre-construction activities as the project progresses toward financial close and construction.
• Support the selection and appointment of OEMs, EPC contractors, and subcontractors.
• Develop project execution strategies, delivery programmes, budgets and resource plans.
• Coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure readiness for construction.
• Oversee delivery, managing programme, budget, quality, safety and risk.
• Manage contractor performance and maintain relationships with delivery partners.
• Occasionally undertake site visits during construction and execution phases.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a an experienced renewable energy developer in Auckland, taking a lead role in the delivery of a major 300MW+ wind farm development in New Zealand. The project is progressing through the final stages of development and moving towards construction, offering the opportunity to get involved early in the pre-construction phase before taking ownership of project execution and delivery. Working closely with internal stakeholders, OEMs, EPC contractors and external consultants, you will play a key role in preparing the project for construction and driving its successful delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead project planning and pre-construction activities as the project progresses towards financial close and construction.
• Support the selection, evaluation and appointment of key OEMs, EPC contractors and specialist subcontractors.
• Develop project execution strategies, delivery programmes, budgets and resource plans.
• Coordinate internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the project is ready for construction.
• Oversee project delivery, managing programme, budget, quality, safety and risk.
• Manage contractor performance and maintain strong relationships with key delivery partners.
• Undertake occasional site visits during the construction and execution phases.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within the renewable energy or wider power infrastructure sector.
• Experience delivering large-scale infrastructure or energy projects, ideally wind, solar or BESS.
• Strong understanding of pre-construction activities, including OEM/EPC procurement, contractor selection and project planning.
• Experience managing contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong commercial, contractual and programme management capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
