Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Engineer for an on-site role in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will lead design, development, and optimization of process systems for oil and gas facilities, conducting simulations, sizing equipment, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with disciplines, and contribute to project planning and execution. A strong background in process design and thermodynamics is essential for success in this hands-on,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 7+ years of progressive process engineering experience in oil and gas.
• Experience in process design, simulation, and P&ID development.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (HYSYS, Aspen Plus).
• Knowledge of API and ASME codes and standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Leadership and communication abilities; experience leading technical teams is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead process design and development of oil and gas facilities from concept to detailed engineering.
• Perform process simulations and calculations using industry-standard software (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus).
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
• Conduct PHAs and contribute to safety reviews.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards and regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and review vendor documentation.
• Support site operations and project planning, estimating, and scheduling.
