Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 7+ years of progressive process engineering experience in oil and gas.
• Experience in process design, simulation, and P&ID development.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (HYSYS, Aspen Plus).
• Knowledge of API and ASME codes and standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Leadership and communication abilities; experience leading technical teams is desirable.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent engineering firm specializing in the energy sector, is seeking a Senior Process Engineer for an on-site position in Queenstown, Eastern Cape . This role is critical for leading the design, development, and optimization of process systems for oil and gas facilities. You will be responsible for conceptual design, process simulations, equipment sizing, and ensuring that all designs meet safety, environmental, and project specifications. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in process engineering, strong analytical skills, and a proven ability to manage complex projects. This hands-on role requires close collaboration with project teams, clients, and operational staff. We are looking for a technically proficient and motivated individual who can drive innovation and ensure the successful execution of process engineering deliverables within our Queenstown operations. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the process design and development of oil and gas facilities, from conceptualization to detailed engineering.
• Perform process simulations and calculations using industry-standard software (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus).
• Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and contribute to safety reviews.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior process engineers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers.
• Review vendor documentation and proposals for process equipment.
• Support site operations and troubleshooting as required.
• Contribute to project planning, estimating, and scheduling.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in process engineering within the oil and gas industry.
• Demonstrated experience in process design, simulation, and P&ID development.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamic principles and fluid mechanics.
• Proficiency in process simulation software.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Experience in managing projects or leading technical teams is highly desirable.
• Ability to work effectively in an on-site, project-driven environment.
