Job summary

Reserve Bank of New Zealand is hiring a Senior Advisor–Operational Resilience Lead to shape prudential policy and mentor others while guiding high-impact policy delivery. The role spans end-to-end policy projects, stakeholder engagement, and expert advisory support within the Prudential Policy Directorate of the Financial Stability Group.

Based in Wellington or Auckland with central location and hybrid flexibility, this senior role focuses on operational resilience, governance and regulatory

Qualifications

• 15+ years’ experience in public policy, regulation, financial services or related field.
• Degree in economics, finance, law or related discipline.
• Proven track record leading and delivering complex policy or regulatory projects.
• Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders and coach others.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex prudential policy, regulatory, and legislative projects.
• Prepare high-quality written analysis, papers, and recommendations for senior review.
• Provide expert advice to the Board, Ministers, Committees, and senior leaders.
• Lead industry and external stakeholder engagement on prudential initiatives.
• Coach and mentor team members, managing workflow and ensuring quality outputs.
• Work with the team manager to support leading the work of the team.
• Collaborate across the Financial Stability Group and lead cross-Bank initiatives.
• Maintain expert knowledge of prudential requirements and regulatory developments.
