Job summary

Stantec's Buildings team in New Zealand seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical building services across health, education and critical facilities. You will mentor engineers, guide project delivery and work with clients to define outcomes within scope, time and budget.

You will contribute to design, documentation and construction support while promoting quality and collaborative teamwork across the NZ Buildings group.

Qualifications

• Five years plus experience in engineering/consulting in building services.
• Experience in a consulting environment within the building services industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to mechanical building services projects across sectors (health, data centres, education, industrial, infrastructure).
• Provide technical guidance to project engineers, ensuring quality, coordination, programme and budget outcomes.
• Oversee design, documentation and construction‑phase support with clients, consultants, contractors and authorities.
• Build trusted client relationships and deliver practical engineering solutions.
• Mentor team members and contribute to engineering systems, standards and processes.
