Job summary

Beca Group in Tauranga is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC design across healthcare, education, commercial and industrial projects in the Bay of Plenty region. You will manage concept‑to‑construction design, work with clients to capture needs, and deliver high‑quality outcomes.

You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and ensure documentation and drawings meet industry standards. A strong background in building services and NZ codes is essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in mechanical, civil, or building services engineering.
• Significant experience delivering HVAC/building services projects from concept to completion, ideally in a consulting environment.
• Proficiency with Revit or IES and knowledge of ASHRAE, CIBSE and NZ building codes.
• Working towards or holding Chartered status and strong communication skills.

• Deliver projects on time, within scope and budget, ensuring high quality outcomes.

Join our Tauranga Building Services team and play a key role in delivering HVAC solutions across healthcare, education, commercial, industrial, and community projects throughout the Bay of Plenty and beyond. You will lead mechanical design from concept through to construction, delivering high‑quality outcomes while working closely with clients to understand their needs, build trusted relationships, and identify opportunities to add value. As a senior mechanical engineer you will provide technical leadership across projects, mentor and support developing engineers, and contribute to the continued growth and success of our team.
