Job summary

Babbage Consultants in Auckland is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our National Building Services team. You’ll design and deliver high‑performing mechanical solutions for hospitals, commercial, residential and industrial projects, while building strong client relationships.

You’ll develop mechanical designs using Revit, manage your priorities, and collaborate across disciplines. On‑site construction monitoring and ongoing professional development will be part of your role,

Qualifications

• Washington Accord degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years’ post-graduate experience in building services.
• Strong mechanical building services design experience.
• Revit 3D design and drafting capability.
• Experience with thermal modelling software, preferably IESVE.
• Experience managing multiple projects, priorities and client relationships.
• Strong communications skills and ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
• Willingness to become Chartered, if not already.
• Experience with Green Star or NABERSNZ is advantageous.

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our National Building Services team, based in Auckland. From hospitals and aged care facilities to commercial, residential, retail and industrial developments, you’ll build strong client relationships and deliver practical, high-performing mechanical solutions.

About the Role

As a Mechanical Engineer within our Building Services team, you’ll be involved in the design and delivery of mechanical services across a broad range of projects throughout New Zealand.You’lldevelop mechanical designs using Revit and other modern design tools, manage your own project priorities and work directly with clients.You’llcollaborate across disciplines to deliver integrated building designs, while also getting out on site for construction monitoring and project support.

There’splenty of variety and technical challenge, along with the opportunity to strengthen your client-facing experience and continue developing your technical and professional capability.

We’rekeen to hear from engineers with:

• A Washington Accord Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent)
• 5+ years’ post-graduate experience within a building services consultancy
• Strong mechanical building services design experience
• Revit 3D design and drafting capability
• Experience with thermal modelling software, preferably IESVE
• Confidence managing multiple projects,prioritiesand client relationships
• Strong communicationskills and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
• A positive,proactiveand client-focused approach
• A willingness to become Chartered, if not already

Experience with Green Star and/or NABERSNZ, healthcare or hospital mechanical design, or building services hydraulics would be advantageous but isn’t essential.
