Job summary

MB Century, a Taupo-based geothermal leader, is seeking a Senior Manager - Subsurface to drive the next phase of growth and sit on the SLT. You will lead our global subsurface strategy and expand service lines across exploration, reservoir management and advisory services.

This role requires 15+ years in geothermal, a relevant geoscience or engineering degree, and a proven track record growing businesses and leading technical teams. Applicants must be eligible to work in NZ.

• A tertiary qualification in geoscience or engineering related to geothermal.
• Deep technical domain expertise across subsurface activities.

MB Century is a leader in the geothermal industry, with headquarters in Taupo, and we're looking for an exceptional Senior Manager - Subsurface to drive the next phase of our growth. Reporting to the CEO and sitting on our Senior Leadership Team, you'll lead our global subsurface strategy, grow new service lines, and strengthen our position as a leading provider of geothermal solutions.

What You'll Do

• Lead MB Century's global subsurface business and growth strategy.
• Act as our principal geothermal subsurface expert and trusted technical client adviser.
• Develop new opportunities across resource assessment, exploration, reservoir management and technical advisory services.
• Build strong relationships with geothermal developers, utilities, asset owners and government agencies.
• Mentor and lead a high-performing multidisciplinary team.
• Deliver commercial performance, profitability and sustainable growth.

About You

You're a highly credible geothermal leader with:

• 15+ years' experience in the geothermal sector.
• A tertiary qualification in a relevant geoscience or engineering discipline, such as Geology, Geophysics, Geochemistry, Reservoir Engineering or Earth Sciences, together with extensive geothermal industry experience.
• Deep technical domain expertise, combined with a strong understanding across subsurface activities - reservoir assessment, exploration, development, and reservoir management.
• Strong domestic and international industry networks and a proven track record of winning work.
• Experience leading technical teams and growing businesses.
