Firth Industries in Auckland seeks an accomplished logistics leader to command the full Auckland fleet of company and owner-driver trucks and our dispatch operation, partnering with customer service to deliver for customers.

You will own the safe, efficient and commercially sound performance of Auckland transport operations, leading fleet availability, driver welfare, customer service coordination and continuous improvement across.sales, service and operations.

• Experience leading a large, complex logistics or transport operation.
• Strong leadership of sizeable fleets or dispersed teams.
• Ability to use data and performance measures to drive action.
• A collaborative, low-ego leadership style with trust-building.
• Capability to plan, prioritise and problem-solve in a fast-moving environment.
• Commercial acumen with a track record of cost and productivity improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Auckland transport operation and set a clear performance rhythm.
• Build a strong safety and wellbeing culture across employees and drivers.
• Match fleet and driver capacity to changing customer demand.
• Use data, dashboards and insights to improve decisions and service.
• Own KPIs spanning safety, delivery performance, utilisation and cost.
• Lead dispatch and daily scheduling in partnership with sales and customer service.
• Maintain fleet presentation, reliability and regulatory compliance.
• Resolve customer issues quickly and turn recurring problems into lasting improvements.
• Bring teams together across functions to deliver Auckland-wide outcomes.
