Job summary

Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is seeking a Senior Learning Designer to join the Organisational Development team in People and Culture. You’ll design eLearning for AUT’s Required Learning Modules and the Aronui Ora programme, delivering authentic blended learning experiences.

You’ll plan, design and develop learning activities, quizzes and resources using Canvas, Articulate Storyline and Adobe, while collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure evidence-based design.

Qualifications

• A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline area, or equivalent accreditation of standing.
• Experience planning, designing and developing learning using evidence-based pedagogy and learning design methodologies for face-to-face, blended, flipped, mobile and online environments.
• Deep understanding and demonstrated experience using Canvas as a learning management system (LMS), including developing, managing and maintaining online learning content and resources.
• Sound practical knowledge of higher education, including curriculum architecture, pedagogy and assessment, and a proven ability to design and deliver professional learning that increases uptake of technology-enhanced teaching practice.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, the ability to understand emerging technologies and adapt them for learning, and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly regarded: experience in the higher education sector, with Canvas and Articulate, and knowledge of mātauranga Māori, te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Responsibilities

• Design eLearning for AUT’s Required Learning Modules and the Aronui Ora programme.
• Plan, design and develop learning activities, quizzes and resources using authoring tools such as Canvas, Articulate Storyline and Adobe.
• Lead and manage a range of work strands and projects.
• Build staff capability in the appropriate use of digital technologies and Required eLearning Modules, advising AUT staff and people leaders.
