Job summary

Technical Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Principal Fire Engineer in Hamilton to set up the new fire engineering team and lead fire protection design and project management from design through commissioning.

You will own the planning and execution of multiple projects, ensuring client expectations are met while upholding health, safety, quality and environmental standards. Collaboration with engineering leaders will be essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary Fire Engineering qualification, ideally with Chartered Engineer status.
• Recent senior-level fire engineering experience in industrial design and project management.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects from design through commissioning.
• Experience leading project teams and managing client relationships.
• Proactive, organized approach with strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead industrial fire engineering systems and fire protection input to all projects in the dairy, food, or pharmaceutical sectors.
• Manage project planning, design reviews, procurement, and construction management.
• Oversee installation and onsite commissioning.
• Build strong client, contractor, and supplier relationships.
• Drive high standards of health, safety, and quality across all projects.
