Job summary

Jensen Hughes in Auckland is seeking an experienced Senior Fire Engineer to join our growing team. You will lead fire engineering projects, work directly with clients, provide technical leadership from inception to completion and participate in site visits.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with a broad network of fire protection professionals, and help shape our New Zealand business while delivering practical, compliant design solutions across a range of buildings.

Qualifications

• Strong technical capability in fire engineering and safety compliance.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary projects.
• Excellent communication with clients and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical input and leadership on fire safety projects from inception to completion.
• Develop and assess fire engineering solutions meeting NZ Building Code requirements.
• Work with clients and project teams to understand challenges and develop practical solutions.
• Think creatively to challenge conventional approaches for better outcomes.
• Participate in site and construction inspections and final inspections.
• Prepare and review technical reports and project documentation.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, professionals and contractors.
• Identify opportunities to improve client outcomes while prioritizing safety and quality.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and industry contacts.
• Represent Jensen Hughes at industry events and client meetings.
• Grow Jensen Hughes' brand and presence in New Zealand.
• Mentor developing engineers and support their growth.
• Collaborate with the broader Jensen Hughes team across New Zealand and globally.
