Job summary

Our client is a leading geotechnical and environmental engineering firm seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their Queenstown team.

You will lead site investigations, develop designs for foundations and earthworks, prepare reports, and guide project teams from inception to completion.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years' experience, a Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering, and proficiency in PLAXIS or GeoStudio; Pr.Eng is desirable.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering, with focus on infrastructure and mining projects.
• Strong report-writing and communication skills.
• Pr.Eng registration is desirable.
• Knowledge of soil and rock mechanics and foundations.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical investigations, including planning, fieldwork supervision, and data analysis.
• Develop geotechnical designs for foundations, retaining walls, embankments and earth structures.
• Prepare geotechnical reports, recommendations and specifications.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams, clients and contractors.
• Oversee construction activities related to geotechnical works and ensure compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigation for geotechnical hazards.
• Utilize Geotechnical software for analysis and modeling.
• Contribute to business development and client liaison.
