Job summary
Canstaff is recruiting for an experienced Fire Alarm Installation Technician / Team Leader to join a well-established fire protection business in Queenstown. You will own installation projects from start to finish, coordinating with clients and trades on site, and delivering high-quality workmanship with safety and documentation.
The role is based in Queenstown, full-time and permanent, with training on company systems and processes and a strong emphasis on leadership and hands-on technical
Qualifications
- Significant experience in fire alarm installation.
- Ability to lead and own a project.
- Strong understanding of fire alarm systems and installation.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Clear, confident communication with clients and teams.
- Commercial and/or industrial fire alarm experience.
- Organised, reliable, and pride in work.
- Full NZ driver’s licence.
Responsibilities
- Install, test and commission fire alarm systems across commercial/industrial projects.
- Take ownership of jobs from start to finish.
- Lead installation work and coordinate with other trades on site.
- Read and interpret fire alarm, electrical and construction drawings.
- Complete cabling, termination and installation of devices.
- Carry out testing, fault finding and troubleshooting.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and documentation.
- Communicate confidently with clients, contractors and project teams.
- Work independently while providing leadership and support where required.
