Job summary

Environment Canterbury is seeking a Senior Facilities Coordinator to ensure our Christchurch area buildings operate safely, efficiently and sustainably. You’ll manage day-to-day facilities operations, build strong relationships with contractors and suppliers, and coordinate a uniform approach across the region with a Timaru-based colleague.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' experience in facilities management, property operations or building services.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems and BMS.
• Experience managing contractors and facilities contracts.
• Understanding of facilities compliance, risk management and health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Develop, set and maintain consistent facilities standards across the region.
• Balance planned vs reactive maintenance for efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Oversee energy use, monitor consumption, and drive emissions reduction initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external contractors.
• Procure assets and related goods and services.
• Support team members as needed.
