Job summary

Southern Cross Hospital in Christchurch is seeking a proactive Facilities Coordinator to centralise maintenance coordination, contractor management and compliance across the hospital. You'll work with the Facilities Manager and contractors to ensure safe, efficient delivery of building services with minimal disruption to operations.

The role blends facilities coordination with compliance, preventative maintenance, and operational support to create a safe environment for our people and patients

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a trade-related environment.
• Proactive attitude with willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Experience maintaining records, reporting, and contractor documentation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance programmes and planned activities across the hospital.
• Manage relationships with contractors and service providers to ensure timely delivery.
• Ensure statutory compliance and building services operate safely and efficiently.
• Provide operational support to the Facilities Manager and hospital teams.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and reporting.
