Job summary

RobLawMax Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Energy to join a leading consultancy in Wellington. You will lead energy and infrastructure projects, coordinating clients, consultants, and contractors across the project lifecycle to achieve successful outcomes.

The role requires a track record in energy, utilities, or infrastructure projects, strong stakeholder management, and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project Manager in energy/utilities/infrastructure sectors.
• Experience delivering energy/renewable energy projects.
• Strong understanding of programme, cost, risk, and stakeholder management.
• Experience managing consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Commercial acumen and contract management capability.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in complex project environments.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Infrastructure, Energy, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of energy and infrastructure projects.
• Manage project scope, budgets, programmes, risks, and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and external consultants.
• Drive stakeholder engagement across clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and service providers.
• Oversee procurement activities, contract administration, and project controls.
• Monitor project progress and ensure delivery against key milestones.
• Manage project governance, approvals, and compliance requirements.
• Provide proactive project leadership and strategic advice throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with client objectives.
