Job summary

Gallagher Animal Management in Hamilton is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join the New Ventures team, contributing across the full product lifecycle from concept to production while delivering robust, reliable electronic solutions for eShepherd wireless fencing.

You will mentor engineers, support design reviews, and work with Product, Software, Manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure EMC compliance, electrical safety, and production readiness in real-world environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level electrical engineering degree.
• 3+ years' experience in product development.
• Proven experience developing commercial electronic products.
• Strong analogue and digital electronics design capability.
• Experience with PCB CAD and electronics design tools.
• Understanding EMC compliance and electrical safety standards.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex electronic faults.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design electronic circuit solutions for new and existing products.
• Develop prototypes and support products from concept through production.
• Conduct testing, validation, and root-cause analysis to ensure product performance.
• Ensure designs comply with EMC, electrical safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Support technical reviews and contribute to sound engineering decision-making.
• Collaborate with Product, Software, Manufacturing, Procurement, and NPI teams.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
• Support continuous improvement of engineering processes and methodologies.
• Mentor and support the development of fellow engineers.
