Job summary

Gallagher is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Hamilton-based hardware team and help shape the next generation of eShepherd products. You will own hardware development from concept through production and field support, coordinating electronics, mechanical design, firmware and field testing for rugged farming environments.

You will mentor engineers, influence product strategy and collaborate with manufacturing and R&D to translate field insights into robust designs and scalable hardware

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product development experience.
• Engineering leadership across hardware, electronics, mechanical, mechatronics or IoT.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and translating field insights into design improvements.

eShepherd is Gallagher’s virtual fencing technology for cattle - solar-powered, GPS-enabled neckbands connected to web and mobile apps that allow farmers to create virtual boundaries, move cattle remotely and manage grazing more precisely.

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Hamilton-based hardware team and help shape the next generation of eShepherd products.

• DFMA, FMEA, design reviews and change management.
• Learning First Product Development, A3 thinking and continuous improvement.
• Coaching, mentoring and growing a high-performing engineering team.

What you’ll bring

• Engineering leadership experience across hardware, electronics, mechanical, mechatronics or IoT products.
• 5+ years’ product development experience.
• Strong technical judgement across design, testing, manufacture and reliability.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
• A practical, customer-focused and commercially aware mindset.
