Job summary

Gallagher is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the hardware engineering function behind the eShepherd hardware and its rugged field deployments in Hamilton, New Zealand. You will guide electronics and mechanical engineers from concept through production, translate field feedback into design improvements and ensure manufacturable, reliable hardware.

You’ll collaborate with IoT, Embedded, Cloud and Product teams to shape roadmap, manage risks and drive continuous improvement while mentoring

Qualifications

Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent.
5+ years’ product development experience with hardware, electronics, mechanical systems or IoT.
Experience with requirements interpretation, architecture definition and risk analysis.
Knowledge of electronic components, sensors, ICs and PCB design tools.
Experience with CAD tools and manufacturing techniques.
Demonstrated project or team leadership and strong communication skills.
Continuous improvement mindset and customer empathy.

Responsibilities

Lead hardware engineering across electronics and mechanical domains through the full product lifecycle.
Guide design reviews, risk mitigations, DFMA and FMEA activities.
Collaborate with IoT, Embedded, Cloud, Product, Manufacturing and Success teams.
Coordinate lab and field testing of prototypes and production hardware.
Translate field feedback into design improvements and future direction.
Mentor engineers and drive practical, manufacturable solutions.
