Job summary

Mercury is seeking a Site Engineer - Electrical for a site-based role along the Waikato river. You will support maintenance, operations and projects, tackling practical engineering challenges to improve asset reliability, performance and safety.

Your work will involve investigations, asset assessments and coordinating improvements through to service restoration. You will bring a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to discuss technical matters

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong electrical engineering experience solving complex plant or equipment problems.
• Ability to break complex problems into components for pragmatic solutions.
• Sound engineering judgement in assessing equipment condition, performance and risk.
• Collaborative approach with operations, maintenance, project and other teams.
• Clear communication and ability to explain technical issues to varied audiences.
• Experience in electricity generation or process environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering support to maintenance, operation and project teams to resolve complex plant issues.
• Monitor asset condition, performance, risk and life expectancy to inform decisions.
• Investigate equipment performance and failures and identify underlying causes.
• Assess equipment integrity threats and develop remedial solutions.
• Manage site-based engineering projects through to implementation.
• Carry out and supervise inspections, assessments and failure analyses.
• Provide QA/QC oversight for complex work returning to service.
• Ensure changes are assessed and managed through Mercury's Change process.
