Job summary

Mercury NZ Limited is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Planner for our Aratiatia Hydro Station, near Taupo. The role focuses on turning maintenance requirements into clear, executable work packages with safety controls and accurate downtime estimates.

You will collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and procurement teams to optimise planning and continuous improvement. You will use Maximo and develop reusable job plans while identifying cost-saving opportunities and

Qualifications

• Maintenance planning and scheduling knowledge required.
• At least 10 years of relevant maintenance experience.
• Strong understanding of asset management fundamentals.
• Experience with hydro or geothermal assets is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Define work scopes, labour requirements and equipment downtime.
• Identify the materials, tooling, equipment and skills required.
• Develop work instructions with safety controls.
• Prepare accurate estimates and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop reusable job plans within Maximo.
• Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers and service providers.
