Job summary

Fusion5 is hiring a Senior Consultant - Databricks / Fabric for our New Zealand Data & Analytics team. Based in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch with flexible, hybrid working, you will own data platform build and delivery end-to-end for ambitious clients.

You’ll work on Databricks or Microsoft Fabric, handle data migration and AI-enabled delivery, and collaborate with architects and principal engineers to lift the team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience with strong delivery on Databricks or Microsoft Fabric
• Proficiency in SQL and Python/PySpark with solid ETL/ELT pipeline design
• Experience with lakehouse/medallion architecture and data modelling
• DevOps practices including Git, CI/CD and environment promotion
• Strong consulting skills: gathering requirements, running sessions, estimating and client communication

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver modern data platforms on Databricks or Fabric including ingestion, transformation, lakehouse design and optimisation
• Own delivery from design through test, deployment and handover with scope and timelines
• Work directly with clients, gather requirements and communicate progress to stakeholders
• Flex across platform build and data migration streams (e.g., D365 CRM/F&O) with business applications teams
• Apply AI to day-to-day work to deliver practical AI on solid data foundations
• Share knowledge and contribute to engineering standards and patterns
