Job summary

Adaptiv in Auckland seeks a Senior Data Engineer / Data Consultant focused on Microsoft Fabric. You will design, build and deliver modern data platforms, working closely with clients to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.

You will lead engineering work across Lakehouses, Warehouses and OneLake, employing Python, PySpark and SQL to implement robust data pipelines and governance within the Microsoft Data ecosystem.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering and platforms.
• Hands-on production data engineering in the Microsoft ecosystem.
• Experience with Fabric Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake, and Data Factory pipelines.
• Strong Python, PySpark and SQL capabilities.
• Experience designing ETL/ELT pipelines and modern data architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and optimise modern data platforms using Microsoft Fabric.
• Develop Lakehouse and Warehouse solutions with OneLake.
• Create scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• Develop data engineering solutions using Python, PySpark and SQL.
• Implement modern architecture patterns and robust data models.
• Work with Azure Data Factory, Data Lake and Azure SQL where relevant.
• Apply DevOps practices: Git, CI/CD, automated deployment.
• Ensure data quality, testing, validation and monitoring in production.
