Job summary

Transpower Aotearoa New Zealand is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant for the Wellington Head Office to own subsidiary accounts and reporting. You’ll apply technical knowledge in financial reporting, tax compliance and audit, helping maintain the integrity of the General Ledger and balance sheet.

Working with the Group Financial Accountant and Financial Reporting Manager, you’ll deliver statutory and regulatory reporting, support tax returns and audits, and contribute to month‑end activities,

Qualifications

CA qualification with NZ IFRS knowledge.
Experience applying NZ IFRS, including IFRS 17.
Financial systems knowledge with controls and reconciliations.
Strong Excel and MS 365 skills.
Good communication, interpersonal and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

Produce subsidiary financial statements and notes with board commentary.
Assist Group Financial Accountant with group reporting and year-end statements.
Support income tax returns, provisional tax and group tax calculations with audit readiness.
Own monthly/annual Treasury information for Crown Accounts submissions.
Deliver external reporting and IFRS17 insurance provisions.
Prepare timely month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
