Job summary

Transpower New Zealand Limited is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to own subsidiary accounts and reporting from the Wellington Head Office. You will contribute to Group and subsidiary statutory reporting, tax compliance and audit while supporting the Group Financial Accountant.

The role requires a CA qualification, strong IFRS knowledge (including IFRS 17), solid financial systems experience and advanced Excel/365 skills.

Qualifications

• CA qualification or equivalent with NZ/IFRS knowledge.
• Experience with NZ and IFRS standards, including IFRS 17.
• Experience with financial systems controls and reconciliations.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Produce subsidiary financial statements, disclosure notes and Board papers with clear commentary.
• Support Group Financial Accountant and Group reporting, including half-year and full-year statements.
• Assist with income tax returns, provisional tax, and Group tax calculations with well-documented workpapers.
• Manage external audit requirements for subsidiary accounts and respond to queries.
• Take ownership of monthly/annual Treasury information for Crown Accounts submissions.
• Deliver external agency reporting, including NZ RBI reporting and Statistics NZ returns.
