Transpower New Zealand Limited in Wellington is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to own subsidiary accounts and reporting, delivering high-quality financial statements and maintaining the general ledger. You will contribute to statutory and regulatory reporting while collaborating with stakeholders across Finance, Treasury, Information Services & Technology, Legal and Governance.

You will gain exposure to tax compliance, cash flow analysis, and external audits, building expertise in IFRS

Qualifikationen

• Sound knowledge and application of New Zealand and International Financial Reporting Standards, including IFRS 17.
• Process-mapping and documentation skills, translating new accounting requirements into effective processes and controls.
• Intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and competency across Microsoft 365, including Word and PowerPoint.
• Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with attention to detail, and sound analytical and numeracy skills.

Aufgaben

• Produce subsidiary financial statements, disclosure notes and Board papers with commentary on performance, movements, risks and matters for Board attention.
• Support and provide cover for the Group Financial Accountant in time, contributing to Group reporting.
• Assist with income tax returns, provisional tax and Group tax calculations with well-supported workpapers and manage external audit requirements for subsidiary accounts.
• Take ownership of monthly and annual Treasury (CFIS) information for submission to the Crown Accounts.
• Deliver external agency reporting, including Reserve Bank reporting and Statistics NZ returns, and work with external actuaries on IFRS 17-compliant provisions.
