Job summary

Transpower New Zealand is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant at our Wellington Head Office. You will own subsidiary accounts and reporting, delivering high-quality financial information and maintaining GL integrity.

You will collaborate across Finance, Tax and Audit teams, contribute to statutory/regulatory reporting, and support tax compliance. The role offers a pathway to broader group reporting exposure while supporting the electricity sector in New Zealand.

Qualifications

• CA qualification or equivalent is required.
• Sound knowledge of NZ and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), including IFRS 17.
• Experience with financial systems controls, reconciliations and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Produce subsidiary financial statements, disclosure notes and Board papers with clear commentary on performance, movements, risks and matters requiring Board attention.
• Support the Group Financial Accountant in group reporting and half-year/year-end statements.
• Assist with income tax returns, provisional tax and group tax calculations; manage external audit inquiries for subsidiary accounts.
• Take ownership of monthly/annual Treasury information for submission to the Crown Accounts.
• Deliver external agency reporting (RBNZ, Statistics NZ) and work with actuaries on IFRS 17 provisions.
