Job summary

New Zealand Police is seeking a Reporting Accountant to lead financial accounting and external reporting for one of New Zealand's largest public sector organisations. Based at Headquarters in Wellington, you will drive financial integrity, forecasting, cashflow management and year-end reporting while working with Treasury, Inland Revenue and auditors.

Qualifications

Strong financial accounting and external reporting experience in a large public sector or complex organisation.
Solid understanding of accounting standards and public sector reporting requirements.
Experience managing taxation and statutory compliance including GST, FBT, and withholding tax.

Responsibilities

Lead financial reporting to Treasury and support annual financial statements.
Deliver accurate financial forecasts, cashflow reporting and budget insights.
Manage GST, FBT, withholding tax and other statutory obligations.
Partner with stakeholders across Police and external agencies to provide trusted financial advice.
Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, improve processes and enhance reporting outcomes.
